Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson has spoken of his relief at being double vaccinated for Covid after testing positive for the virus, saying he could have been in ‘serious trouble’ without it.
The musician, 63, took a test after experiencing some symptoms of the illness and believes things could have been worse due to his age.
He told Rolling Stone: ‘I thought, “Oh well, s**t.” I was kind of sneezing a bit. For a couple of days, I felt a bit groggy, kind of like the flu, and that was it.
‘And I’m 63 years old. I’ve pretty much got no doubt that had I not had the vaccine, I could be in serious trouble’
He added: ‘Personally, I think people are just very badly advised if they don’t go and get themselves double jabbed as quickly as possible, not for the reasons of going into concerts, but for their own health.
‘Having said that, even if you’ve had a double jab, you can still get Covid, and therefore you can spread it to other people who might not have been vaccinated and they might get very sick and die.’

The musician went on to say how he believes Covid is something we will have to live with in the future.
He noted that cancer, heart attacks, obesity and malaria kill people and he thinks deaths from coronavirus could become as routine.

He explained: ‘So at some point, we have to just go, “We’re probably going to have to live with this. And if we’re going to live with it, then you have your vaccination.”’
While Brian recognises it is a personal choice to get vaccinated, he urged his fans to get the injection, saying people are ‘badly advised’ about their own health if they don’t.
