Roy Keane Goes All Out on Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua – “They Both Irritate Me”

This year, the biggest heavyweight fight in the modern era between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury was all set to come to life. The British pair were also set to meet each other inside the ring on August 14 for the undisputed heavyweight title. Unfortunately, because of some external factors, this contest fell through.

Post that, both Fury and Joshua mocked each other and their verbal tussle reached new heights. However, this banter didn’t quite impress the former Manchester United midfielder, Roy Keane.

In his exclusive interaction with Gary Neville on The Overlap, Keane said, “I don’t like any of them. The heavyweight stuff is irritating me, too much talk.”

“None of them. They both irritate me; I’m not picking any of them.” (h/t Manchester Evening News)

Just like Keane, millions of boxing fans were left disheartened when the Fury vs Joshua fight failed to materialize after months and months of negotiations, anticipation, and excitement. The fight made some serious progress in terms of contracts, purses, and more.

However, as the ex-champ, Deontay Wilder, was eager to book a trilogy with Fury, he took the legal route and got his wish.

Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury – Can this fight still happen?

For now, Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury are lined up to face different opponents. ‘The Gypsy King’ will battle out Wilder on October 9th in Las Vegas. On the other hand, Anthony ‘AJ’ Joshua will meet Oleksandr Usyk for his title defense on September 25th at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Considering this, the only way the Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury fight can happen now is if both these men beat their opponents. The fans are optimistic about the same and they’re keeping their fingers crossed to see ‘The Gypsy King’ and Joshua win their next bouts.

It’ll be interesting to see if this fight really comes to life and gives fans the bout that they have been craving. What do you make of Roy Keane’s comments? Let us know in the comments section.
