Loose Women star Judi Love has been unveiled as the latest Strictly Come Dancing 2021 celebrity contestant as this year’s line up gets closer to being complete.

The announcement was dropped on Friday’s episode of Loose Women – via a couple of fake outs thanks to her co-stars Nadia Sawalha and Linda Robson.

She joins an exciting line up that includes McFly guitarist Tom Fletcher, Coronation Street star Katie McGlynn, BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker, and Olympian Adam Peaty.

Judi, whose codename was Cinderella, said: ‘I think I am still in shock that I will be part of this amazing show. I’ve watched it for many years and admired the phenomenal abilities of these dancers and celebrities that have taken part and dedicated themselves to learning a new craft.

‘I’m truly looking forward to pushing myself in something that I could have only dreamed of doing and now it’s actually coming true!! I can’t lie I’m soooo nervous but excited at the same time!’

She is a stand up comedian from Hackney, born to Jamaican parents.

She made her stage debut as a professional comedian in her 2011 show Laughter Is Healing.

Judi has credited comedy as helping her through difficult periods in her life, such as when her mum died following a battle with dementia in 2009.

In April this year she revealed her dad Albert had died in Jamaica.

Her other TV appearances include comedy panel shows 8 Out Of 10 Cats, The Ranganation and Sorry, I Didn’t Know.

Judi Love – who is her partner and how many kids does she have?

Judi is currently single, but has revealed in the past that she is dating and looking for love.

She told OK! magazine: ‘I’m definitely dating! Which is a good thing. I’m just loving myself and where I am. I know now what I need and what I want. It’s a nice feeling when you can meet someone and get on with them.

‘It’s important as a single parent for your children to see that you need to be loved and cared for too, because you’re always caring for them.’

The TV star is mum to two children, a son, 11, and a 16-year-old daughter.

Judi has been part of the Loose Women family since 2020.

Speaking about joining the show to OK!, she shared: ‘These women are pros!

‘They’ve got their friendships. They don’t really know who I am, so it’s new territory and trying to establish your voice.

‘It’s live TV too, so I’ve been learning how they balance being their authentic selves, live, being compassionate and funny and informative. It’s a real skill!’
