Paddy McGuinness’ children went all out to mark his 48th birthday, with a handmade cake and cards.

The Top Gear presenter gave fans a glimpse into his family-filled day, showing off celebratory balloons he had been gifted.

Taking to Instagram, the star, who shares children Leo, Penelope and Felicity with wife Christine McGuinness, revealed the sweet bash.

‘My babies made me a birthday cake! Being a parent is stressful but it’s the moments like this that make everything worthwhile,’ he captioned the adorable photos.

‘For anyone else celebrating their Birthday today, happy Birthday!!! #birthday #leo #august #weekend #cake.’

Fans and famous friends were living for the party, and flooded the comments with celebratory messages.

Christine was living for the snaps, sliding underneath the upload to reply: ‘Cuties. Happy birthday love.’

‘What a cake!! What children!! What a celebration!! Happy birthday Paddy,’ Ore Oduba commented.

Mark Wright said: ‘Happy birthday big man x.’

‘Happy Birthday buddy, the kids did you proud,’ a follower posted.

Paddy has a lot to celebrate at the moment, after he was announced as the new host of A Question of Sport.

It was recently revealed that long-time star Sue Barker was stepping down from the role, alongside team captains Matt Dawson and Phil Tufnell.

Paddy has now taken up the job, with team captains hockey player Sam Quek and rugby star Ugo Monye joining in the fun.

A tweet from the programme’s official Twitter account confirmed the news last month, with the message: ‘Let the games begin!’

Chatting about his new position, he told the Mirror: ‘I love the fiercely competitive nature of sports stars coupled with having a laugh.

‘That’s why A Question of Sport has always been one of my favourite shows and having been weaned on it from an early age, this is an honour and opportunity I’m certainly not taking lightly.

‘I grew up with both Davids hosting but it’s Sue who made this show her own.

‘She will always be A Question of Sport icon, but I’ll try my best to stamp my own mark on it.’

Bring it on.
