Reflecting on Osaka’s season so far, she began competing in Melbourne and won her fourth Grand Slam title in Melbourne. After that. she was not in the best of form and has been unable to win a title.

Just before the French Open, she mentioned she would not be present in any post-match press conference. Her decision was not received well by the tennis fraternity. She then withdrew before her second-round match.

Following that, she decided to skip the Wimbledon Championships and was seen at the Tokyo Olympics. However, she suffered an unfortunate defeat in the early stages. She was unable to win a medal for her country.

As we look forward to the US Open, she would still remain a possible contender to win the title. Being the defending champion and winning the Australian Open this year surely is an encouraging sign for the Japanese star. It will be interesting to see how she performs in the final Grand Slam event of the season.
