Influencer demonstrates how she can edit a bikini snap in SECONDS to trim down her waist and get rid of her cellulite

In a world full of Influencers and celebrities with perfect bodies and flawless skin, it can be refreshing to see when a person shows the reality of what they really look like.

And one journalist agrees, as she has slammed photo editing apps which allow people to smooth out their skin, shrink their waists and can even make some look unrecognisable.

Danae Mercer, 33, regularly shares pictures to her Instagram which has over 2.4million followers exposing how a simple tweak in posing, lighting and outfit can dramatically change a person’s look.

And in her latest post, she reveals how these photo editing apps are “so dangerous”.

Shrinks the waist

In a screen recording posted this weekend, Danae uses the FaceTune app, to edit a photo of her bikini-clad on a boat.

Showing how easy it is to make subtle changes, she shrinks her waist, enhances her breasts and smooths out the skin on her face and thighs in just seconds.

She captions the video, by writing: “Let’s talk SUBTLE photoshopping – and why it’s so gosh darn dangerous,’ she wrote in the caption.

“First, subtle photoshop is EVERYWHERE. Influencers use it to shave off INCHES or SHRINK WAISTS, enhance skin or darken lashes.

‘Subtle photoshop is EVERYWHERE’

“It softens veins, removes cellulite, elongates legs and does a dozen other things.

“And unlike those photoshop “fails” that pop up in the news from time to time, most subtle photoshop jobs are nearly IMPOSSIBLE TO SPOT.

“Like this pic here. I’m posing (clearly!), but then I also using apps to change my body.

“I shrink my waist and smooth my forehead vein, then get rid of the dimples on my thighs.

“Apps like these exist for photos AND FOR VIDEOS.

“My point here isn’t to shame the women who do this to their bodies – because I’ve been in that space, shrinking myself through apps, and it’s not a balanced one.

“Instead I want to remind you that this happens. The internet is curated. The online world is filtered. And social media should never be a mirror against which you judge yourself.”

Previously, Danae has gone viral after sharing how influencers give “false ideas” of how their bodies are.
