Simon Cowell is said to be developing a new car show set to rival BBC’s Top Gear.
Just weeks after it was announced X Factor has been axed, it’s been reported the 61-year-old music mogul is working on the format and eyeing up potential talent to take part.
The music mogul owns a number of flash motors and reckons making a programme exploring his love for cars is a ‘no brainer’.
‘Simon has always been a huge car lover – and a car show is always something he has been interested in doing,’ an insider said.
‘He was famously a guest driver on Top Gear and loves talking cars. He has been approached by a number of well-known car experts and racing drivers wanting to partner with him over the years.’
The source added to The Sun: ‘Right now, there feels like an especially large appetite.’

Now the plug has been officially pulled on X Factor, Simon is hard at work developing another series – Walk The Line – that will see musical acts perform for the nation and a panel of judges.
Earlier this month, it was reported that he’s hoping to give away the biggest cash prize on TV, with the winner going home with a whopping £500k.
The top two performers will then face a difficult decision – to either walk away with a cash prize or continue for the chance to win even more money… or go home with nothing.

If they top the leader board, they’ll stay in the running and go up against a new batch of fellow competitors, progressing to the next show.
Last month ITV said there are ‘no current plans’ for another series of singing show The X Factor, which last aired in 2018.
