P&O reveals new £700m cruise ship with infinity pools and fancy restaurants – with 7 nights from £499

P&O have revealed their brand new £700m cruise ship, launching this year.

The Iona, which has already travelled through Scotland earlier this month on it’s maiden cruise, is now open for bookings next month from just £499.

P&O have revealed their brand new Iona cruise ship

The ship, which can carry up to 5,000 people, is named after the Isle of Iona in Scotland.

Onboard are four swimming pools – two infinity pools, a top-deck lido and an indoor pool, covered by the two-deck glass roof Sky Dome.

If you fancy something bubblier, there are also 18 hot tubs along with some sun loungers to soak up the rays.

You are also spoilt for choice for food and drink, with 30 restaurants and bars ranging from Spanish and Norwegian to American and Caribbean, as well as menus designed by renowned chef Marco Pierre White.

The favourite will be the Sunset bar which has the best views when the sun goes down.

Entertainment isn’t in short supply either – there is a four-screen cinema, a gin distillery and a two-storey theatre with live acts including Take That’s Gary Barlow and Spandau Ballet’s Tony Hadley.

The cabins range from standard to suites, with king-size beds, tea and coffee stations as well as an en-suite in all of them, although the fancier options have seA view balconies and whirlpool baths.

A trip won’t break the bank, with the seven night holidays around the UK from £499, and 14 nights around Spain and Portugal from £699.

All trips include all of the entertainemnt, full-board dining and shuttle buses at the port.

That means you can cruise for just £50 a night, putting it on the more affordable side of cruise holidays.

P&O have strict Covid rules right now, although will let you change your cruise holiday for free, up to the date that you pay off the full balance.

All travellers will have to have full travel insurance and both Covid jabs to be allowed to board, although from September 25, under 18s only need a negative Covid test pre-arrival.

If you or a member of your household test positive for Covid within 14 days of travel, then P&O will cancel the holiday and offer Future Cruise Credit for the price of the cruise.

P&O first announced the short UK sailings along the coastline earlier this year, with plans for international trips later this year.
