WATCH: Anderson Silva’s Son Made His Pro Kickboxing Debut With a Stunning Head Kick Knockout

During his reign as the middleweight champion in the UFC, Anderson Silva established himself as a force to be reckoned with. ‘The Spider’ made world-class opponents look like day-one amateurs. And added to his ever-growing reel of knockouts. His performances inside the octagon inspired many to take up the sport including the likes of Israel Adesanya and most recently his son Kalyl Silva.

The 22-year old plays as a forward for the LA10 in the United Premier Soccer League. Kalyl Silva made his kickboxing debut in the 159-pound weight class against Anthony Reynaga. Much like his father has done multiple times during his career, Kalyl ended the fight with an inch-perfect high kick. The fight was over within 12-seconds as Kalyl landed a left high-kick that immediately knocked his opponent down to the floor. The referee stepped in and called the fight immediately.

It will be interesting to see how Anderson Silva’s son progresses in the world of combat sports. If his debut is anything to judge him by, he has the same speed and flair that his father was so well known for.

Anderson Silva set to continue his fighting legacy

Anderson Silva parted ways with the UFC after 14 years with the promotion. Silva won just one of his last ten fights with the UFC. His last fight was a stoppage loss against Uriah Hall. Silva was adamant about staying active and competing and switched over to boxing after being let go by the UFC.

He made his boxing debut against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. A fight he won via split decision. Silva put on an excellent display on his boxing debut against an opponent who had way more experience as a boxer than he did. Silva will not take on a former UFC fighter in Tito Ortiz in his second professional boxing match.

The duo will fight on the undercard of Oscar De La Hoya vs Vitor Belfort which will take place on September 11th under Triller production. There were reports that a fight between Silva and Logan Paul would be next for ‘The Spider’ but the fight did not materialize in time for the September 11th card.
