Judy Murray confirmed as new Soccer Aid coach as celebrity line-up for 2021 match revealed

Judy Murray has been revealed to be the new Soccer Aid coach ahead of this year’s charity match as the teams have been announced.

The mum of tennis legend Andy Murray confirmed her spot in the 10th match on today’s episode of Good Morning Britain and is ‘thrilled to bits’ to be involved.

‘This is a major event and something that raises money for charity and brings people from entertainment and sport together,’ Judy enthused to presenters Kate Garraway and Charlotte Hawkins.

‘It’s a real showcase and it’s going to be a whole lot of fun.’

This year, Soccer Aid will welcome fans to its new host venue at Manchester City’s spectacular Etihad Stadium on Saturday 4 September 2021.

Who are the Soccer Aid 2021 players?

Fan favourites Olly Murs, Usain Bolt, Chunkz and Jamie Redknapp are all returning to the pitch for this year’s tournament.

They’ll be joined by a host of new faces including Tom Grennan, James Arthur and Fara Wiliams.

What is Soccer Aid and how can you buy tickets?

Soccer Aid was created by Robbie Williams in 2006 and is the world’s biggest celebrity-charity football match, raising money to give kids the best start in life.

Once a year, England take on their opponents, the Soccer Aid World XI FC.

Soccer Aid for Unicef has raised over £47million since its inception, to help give children all over the world a happy, healthy childhood full of play.

Last year, a record-breaking £9.3million was achieved, with even more expected to be raised this time around.

Tickets for this year’s game are on sale and with prices starting at £21 for adults and £10.50 for children.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV. This year’s Soccer Aid will take place on Saturday, September 4 at Eithad Stadium.
