Lady Gaga’s former dog walker has revealed he is homeless and struggling for money as he travels around the US.

Ryan Fischer became known this year after he was shot while out walking Gaga’s dogs who were then stolen during the brutal attack in February.

As he recovered in hospital, it was said that Gaga had offered to pay for Ryan’s medical bills which reportedly totalled £70,000.

Since then, Ryan has embarked on a road trip around North America in order to heal his ‘emotional and mental health’. However, he’s run into some challenges with his van breaking down but he can’t afford to pay for repairs or to buy a new one.

He’s set up a GoFundMe page pleading for financial support and hopes to raise $40k (£29k).

Ryan wrote of his journey: ‘At times I was scared. I was lonely. I felt abandoned and unsupported.

‘I had long bouts of depression and doubt and self-pity. But those backroads that took me to desert campsites and Walmart parking lots and rest stops and friends and family to New York and back began to help me see why I had chosen to leave the security of the Hollywood Hills where I fought for my life and mobility.

‘All that time spent reclaiming my body, I now needed to be equally devoted to strengthening my emotional and mental health.’

Detailing the desperation of his situation, he explained: ‘With no vehicle, apartment, and having run out of savings and surviving on donations from generous loved ones, I am humbly asking for your help.

‘This is not an easy thing to ask, but I have started to realize sharing your vulnerability with others is exactly when radical change begins to occur for everyone involved.’

So far, Ryan has raised over $3k of his target goal.

Ryan was left for dead in the attack, which saw two of Gaga’s dogs, Koji and Gustavo, dognapped before being returned unharmed days later. After being rushed to hospital, Ryan had surgery on his lungs and was able to be saved by doctors.

However, in March, he revealed he’d been readmitted to hospital due to his lungs collapsing again.
