Sarah Jessica Parker has shared several snaps from the set of the upcoming Sex and the City revival And Just Like That… , including one welcoming newcomer Nicole Ari Parker.

Nicole, best known for roles in Empire and Chicago P.D, will play Lisa Todd Wexley, ‘a Park Avenue mother of three and documentarian,’ HBO Max previously said.

She joins SJP, 56, Cynthia Nixon, 55, and Kristin Davis, 56, who will be reprising their roles of much-loved characters Carrie Bradshaw, Miranda Hobbes and Charlotte York respectively.

However, some fans of the original series have pointed out that it looks as though Nicole is taking over as the fourth woman in the group, seemingly replacing Kim Cattrall.

Kim famously played PR guru Samantha Jones in the show but is absent from the reboot following a years-long feud with Sarah.

In January this year, Kim liked a tweet hinting that she ‘put herself first’ by stepping away from the revival, hinting at her reasons for not taking part in the new programme.

And, even though it’s long been known that Kim won’t be reprising her role as Samantha, some fans of Sex and the City were gutted to see the cast as a four again, but without Kim.

One Twitter user wrote: ‘Wait is Nicole Ari Parker replacing Kim Cattrall on the Sex in the city reboot?’

‘Do we have a new Samantha?!?!!!!’ another said.

However, there was also much support online, as one Nicole fan said: ‘So i’m guessing Nicole Parker is the fourth member of the SATC gang since Kim Cattrall is paying it — i’m kind of here for it.’

Another enthused: ‘Do we have a new Samantha?!?!!!! The cast of Sex and the City and Nicole Ari Parker are real hugged up. Kim Cattrell did say she’d like her role to go to a woman of color. Can it be? (sic).’

Taking to Instagram on Monday, Sarah shared a series of wholesome snaps of the foursome on set, hugging and smiling at the camera.

Captioned, ‘I’d sing along to 70’s love songs with this trio deep into any night,’ the post shows the glamorous stars beaming and united with their arms around one another.

Reposting to her own Instagram, Nicole, 50, was already full of love and praise for her co-stars, writing: ‘These Beautiful Beings. Thank you #SJP for holding the whole place together on such a long hot night.’

SATC originally aired on HBO from 1998 to 2004, followed by a film in 2008 and sequel in 2010.

The new show does not have an official premiere date yet, but it will have 10 episodes and picks up with three of Sex and the City’s four main characters navigating life, love and friendship in their 50s.

Many original cast members will be reviving their roles, including Chris Noth, Mario Cantone, David Eigenberg, Willie Garson and Evan Handler.

Joining Nicole as newcomers are Sara Ramírez, Sarita Choudhury and Karen Pittman, who executive producer, Michael Patrick King, is thrilled to have as part of the family.

‘Each of them will add their unique spark and big heart to these new characters and the stories we are about to tell,’ he said.

And Just Like That will be available to stream in the US on HBO Max.
