Britain’s Got Talent comedian Nabil Abdulrashid was the latest star to leave Celebrity MasterChef in scenes that aired on Tuesday night.

Judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace chose to eliminate the funnyman, leaving fellow contestants Penny Lancaster, Towie’s Megan McKenna, and TV host Melanie Sykes still in the competition.

‘I kind of knew it was coming from the day I had today,’ Nabil said, after he was told his journey on the show had come to an end.

‘I’m going to look back at my MasterChef experience with joy, pride, and frustration. At least I wasn’t eliminated first, right?’

Tweeting after his exit, Nabil wrote: ‘MasterChef was fun.. who knows.. maybe one day I’ll have a tv show and have Judges come on and try to recreate African/Caribbean meals and I can give them feedback?’ (sic)

Nabil fell short with his final dish of the episode, where the celebrities were challenged to create one dish inspired by a holiday in just one hour.

The stand-up opted to make a tomato-based melon seed stew with dried fish, however, the judges weren’t too blown away.

‘I found that fascinating,’ John commented. ‘But the cooked brown rice? He ran out of time and it was watery. It should have been a lot harder than that, which was a real shame.’

Nabil’s exit comes after Great British Sewing Bee’s Patrick Grant, who was sent packing on Monday.
