The Changing Rooms reboot could feature some tense moments between newbies Jordan Cluroe and Russell Whitehead, who have hinted at ‘clashes’ in the upcoming series.

Channel 4 are bringing back their staple 1990s series with Laurence Llewellyn-Bowen returning as an interior design expert, along with presenter Anna Richardson and carpenter Tibby Singh.

New designers Russell and Jordan are used to working closely together as they are co-founders of interior design company 2LG Studio but, perhaps more importantly, they’re also married.

Mixing business and pleasure will naturally mean the couple will bump heads occasionally.

Speaking to Christine Lampard on ITV’s Lorraine, Jordan explained: ‘We often say to our real clients in real life, we’ll have the arguments for you and I think if we’re not bickering or pushing ourselves, then we’re not getting the best results so often that’s the way to get there.’

His partner Russell chimed in: ‘He’s uber confident and completely instinctual whereas I need details and storyboarding, so we have a very different approach which sometimes creates a massive clash.’

Jordan then joked: ‘I’m like, “It’s pink, it’s just pink”, and he’s like, “But why is it pink? Let’s interrogate the pink”.’

The TV stars explained that they were the ‘biggest fans of the show the first time round’ and were thrilled to experience ‘real camaraderie immediately’ when they joined the rest of the team.

It comes as no surprise they were most excited about working with Laurence, who starred in the original run of Changing Rooms.

‘There was a lot of love in the room,’ they smiled.

Russell then quipped: ‘Laurence is back from the grave, he’s a force of nature you can’t keep a good man down.

‘He was great, it’s so funny we grew up watching the show so meeting him was lovely. It was such a mix of emotions but the overarching feeling was joy.’

Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV.

Changing Rooms launches on Wednesday August 18 at 8pm on Channel 4 and All 4.
