Daniel Craig says he won’t leave any of his £116million fortune to his kids

JAMES Bond star Daniel Craig said he will not leave his children an inheritance as he finds the practice “distasteful”.

The actor, 53, is reported to be worth around £116million after heading the 007 franchise and appearing in films such as Knives Out.

Craig has a three-year-old daughter with wife Rachel Weisz, 51, and an adult daughter, named Ella, from his previous marriage to Fiona Loudon, 53.

He said he does not plan on passing all of his money to his kids, noting the example of industrialist Andrew Carnegie.

He said: “Isn’t there an old adage that if you die a rich person, you’ve failed?

“I think Carnegie gave away what in today’s money would be about $11billion. That shows how rich he was because I’ll bet he kept some of it too.

“I don’t want to leave great sums to the next generation. I think inheritance is quite distasteful.

“My philosophy is, get rid of it or give it away before you go.”

Intensely private Craig, born in Chester, also said of his fame: “Privacy is a hugely important part of my life and this being a celebrity makes me nervous, actually.

“There is a side of my life that I just choose not to share and not to discuss.”

His final outing as 007 will come in No Time To Die, due out on September 30.
