David Tennant is sporting the full vicar setup in new snaps from the set of his upcoming BBC drama Inside Man.

The Doctor Who star was seen filming on Tuesday alongside It’s A Sin and Years and Years star Lydia West as well as Dolly Wells, who previously appeared on Dracula and The Pursuit of Love.

While filming a scene in a car, David looked concerned. He was sporting a blue shirt with a clerical collar and a cleaner trim compared to his lockdown mane in Staged

Lydia and Dolly were also photographed playing opposite each other while having a conversation outside what looked like some sort of guarded facility.

When the cameras weren’t rolling, the two spent a moment catching up on their scene and giggling.

Rounding out the stellar cast for this upcoming drama is Stanely Tucci, who did not appear to be present during this shoot.

Lydia most recently delivered a standout performance in Russell T Davies’ It’s A Sin playing Jill, and previously appeared on Years and Years, also by Davies.

She also had a guest role on last year’s Dracula, by Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat, where she met Dolly, who is most famous for her many movie appearances (including the Bridget Jones series) and who was seen earlier this year in the BBC costume drama The Pursuit of Love.

Stanley of course is a huge Hollywood name who appeared in The Devil Wears Prada, Spotlight and even Captain America before starring opposite Colin Firth in last year’s Supernova.

In the upcoming four-part miniseries, Stanley will play a prisoner on death row in the US, while David is a Vicar in a quiet English town. Together with a maths teacher trapped in a cellar, they will cross paths in the most unexpected way…

This captivating series sees Moffat and Sue Vertue as showrunners. The husband and wife team said when the show was first announced: ‘We’re a bit stunned, and very excited, at the acting talent we’re managing to assemble for this show.’

Director of BBC Drama, Piers Wenger also added: ‘BBC One viewers will already know the television magic created when Steven Moffat writes for David, Dolly and Lydia.

‘With the fantastic Stanley Tucci alongside them as our Inside Man, everything is in place for a series that will have the nation gripped.’

More: David Tennant

The 60-minutes episode series will be premiering later this year on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the UK and on Netflix internationally. And according to the streamers head of UK Original Series, Chris Sussman, only Moffat knows how it’s going to end.

‘It’s impossible to say too much about Inside Man without giving away spoilers – so let’s just say the scripts are fiendishly clever, the cast is fantastic and at this point in time nobody but Steven knows how it’s going to end,’ they said.
