Drake couldn’t let fans think he was simply rocking a bad haircut, and revealed his hair loss was a symptom of Covid-19.
The One Dance rapper had a snoop around on a Drake fan account this week and noticed a photo of his hairline looking a little sparse.
In the caption, the account owner wrote: ‘That hair is stressed.’
The image showed a close-up of the heart shape Drake had shaved in at the edge of his hairline to represent his upcoming album Certified Lover Boy.
Quick to defend himself, Drizzy replied: ‘I had Covid that s**t grew in weird I had to start again 😂 it’s coming back don’t diss.’
It’s not known exactly when the photo was taken but Drake has been sport the heart-shaped hairstyle since August 2020.
Hair loss isn’t a typical symptom of Covid but last year, specialists said they had noticed a surge in telogen effluvium (TE) – a form of temporary hair loss that normally occurs after stress, a shock, or a traumatic event – among former Covid-19 patients.

Last month, the Grammy-winning rapper provided an update on his long-awaited sixth studio album, and confirmed it was finished.
Speaking on SiriusXM in July, Drake teased: ‘Album’s ready… album’s cooked, looking forward to delivering it to you… Certified Lover Boy on the way and that’s for anyone in the way.’
Certified Lover Boy was originally set for release in January 2021 but Drake decided to delay it presumably due to the coronavirus pandemic.
However, most recently, fans have speculated whether Drake, 34, is trying to time it around the release of Kanye West’s album Donda.
It’s no secret that there’s no love lost between the two rappers, who have publicly feuded for a few years, and some fans are convinced that Drake will drop it on the same day Donda arrives, which is yet to be determined.
Despite his absence, Drake’s presence in music is still felt thanks to Lizzo keeping his name alive with saucy lyrics on her new song with Cardi B called Rumors.

The singer says: ‘Last year I thought I would lose it, reading s**t on the internet/My smoothie cleanse and my diet, no I ain’t f**k Drake yet.’
Lizzo later explained that she thought the line was ‘funny’ and has a ‘small relationship’ with the rapper.
