Kanye West has confirmed he will hold a third Donda listening event next week, while his fans continued to wait for the album’s much-delayed release.

Yeezy will be bringing a version of Donda to his beloved hometown of Chicago, at the 60,000 capacity Soldier Field stadium.

The public listening session will take place on August 26 and tickets go on sale this Friday.

If the previous two events are anything to go by, it will be live streamed on Apple Music so fans can try and figure out just how much of the album has been tweaked and overhauled by Ye and his team.

So far, Kanye has played tracks from the album at a private listening session in Las Vegas on July 17, followed with a public event at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium on July 22.

He held another event at the Atlanta stadium on August 5, where he played a dramatically different version of the album, including several new songs, mixes and/or features, one of which was from the Weeknd.

Both times, the album failed to get released on streaming platforms post-event as had been promised.

Fans have been having to make do with snippets of two songs, No Child Left Behind and Glory that have been aired in Beats adverts starring athlete Sha’carri Richardson.

The latest listening event comes after fans appeared to have been offered a small glimmer of progress from Apple Music.

As spotted by an eagle-eyed fan and shared on Twitter, the platform updated the description for Kanye’s long-gestating album, which now reads: ‘Yeezy’s 10th solo album features a wealth of some of the MC’s favourite voices.’

Something is better than nothing, right?

Donda was originally supposed to drop on July 23, before that got pushed to August 6.

The All Of The Lights hit-maker has named the album after his late mother, Donda West, who died from complications after cosmetic surgery in 2007 at the age of 58.

Expected among the ‘favorite voices’ on the album, thought to feature 24 tracks, are Jay Z, Pusha T, Playboi Carti, and Travis Scott.

It’s also said to feature lyrics about his split from wife Kim Kardashian, who has supported the album release by attending the listening events with their four children: North, eight, Saint, five, Chicago, three, and two-year-old Psalm.
