Sean Lock dead: 8 Out of 10 Cats comedian’s funniest TV moments as he dies aged 58

It has been announced that Sean Lock, best-known as one of the team captains on 8 Out of 10 Cats, has died at the age of 58.

In a statement released by his agent Off The Kerb Productions, it said that the comedian died from cancer surrounded by his family.

‘Sean was one of Britain’s finest comedians, his boundless creativity, lightning wit and the absurdist brilliance of his work, marked him out as a unique voice in British comedy,’ the statement said.

Throughout his illustrious career, Sean was known for his deadpan humour, amusing viewers on 8 Out of 10 Cats, its spin-off 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and as one of the creators of the sitcom 15 Storeys High.

Following the news of his death, fans of the comedian have been remembering some of his funniest moments on TV, having left his co-stars and viewers alike in hysterics with his antics.

Sean’s horn

When Sean played a ridiculously long horn on the set of 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, everyone in the studio was understandably taken aback.

The horn stretched all the way from Sean’s desk to Jimmy, blowing straight into the TV host’s face

‘I think we can all agree, that’s a terrible noise,’ Jimmy Carr said, as Sean continued to play.

His views on children’s acting

After watching a children’s play during Big Fat Quiz of the Year, Sean made some harsh remarks about children acting, after a group of schoolchildren re-enacted a current affairs story in a play.

Following a round of applause for the young actors, Sean remarked: ‘I thought they were s**t.

‘Really bad. If I was their drama teacher I’d be absolutely ashamed. I’d throw myself in the canal. That’s some of the worst acting I’ve ever seen!’ he exclaimed.

Carrot in a box

Sean’s feud with Jon Richardson on 8 Out of 10 Cats was well-documented throughout the show.

It came to a head over their competition over a carrot in a box – leaving Jimmy in fits of laughter.

After Sean joked that the peculiar game was ‘ruining Christmas’, he was given the chance to look inside the box.

With the coveted carrot firmly in his grasp, Sean walked away with the win.
