Jessie J announced that she is taking a break from social media to focus on her illness.

The Bang Bang singer, 33, revealed last year that she had been diagnosed with Ménière’s disease, which impacts the ear and can cause vertigo.

She recently shared a devastating health update, stating that she is in pain every single day over the symptoms and was left sobbing for hours.

Taking to Instagram, the Voice coach shared a throwback snap of herself in the studio with fans, explaining the reason behind her time-out.

‘Done it many times before over the years,’ she penned.

‘I am going to disappear from socials for a while and pour 100% of my focus into myself and getting to the bottom of what’s going on with my body.

Jessie’s fans rushed to support her over the news (Picture: Shutterstock)

‘Only ever post about it out of love and respect for my fans who follow and support me on here. No explanation is so un-Aries.’

Jessie concluded: ‘See you when this kind of picture is in real time and not a throw back.’

Fans quickly showered the post with love, offering their support and urging the star to take the time she needs.

‘Sending so much love and strength! Take care take all the time you need and we love you Jess,’ a follower commented.

‘Hope everything is okay. We will always support you,’ an Instagram user replied.

Another instructed: ‘I hope you get better soon!!!! Focus into yourself!’

As one promised: ‘Will be blasting I WANT LOVE til your return. Love you and hope you get better soon! [sic].’

Ménière’s disease is an inner ear condition that can cause vertigo, tinnitus, hearing loss, as well as giving sufferers the sensation that everything is spinning, meaning it is difficult to stand or walk straight.

It mostly affects people aged between 20-60, with no known cure for the illness.

Symptoms can include nausea, hearing ringing or buzzing inside your ear, dizziness and losing your balance – this commonly last for hours, with the condition usually starting in one ear but can spread to both over time.

Jessie opened up about her battle with Ménière’s, as well as another mystery illness, and is set to undergo an MRI scan, as well as vocal therapy, to determine the cause of the problem.

During a recent Q&A session on Instagram, she confirmed that her album is on hold until she is ‘better’.

‘When can we expect the album? When I’m better, which I don’t know when that’s going to be,’ she added.

‘My throat is the same. It is so boring, so boring. I don’t even know what to say anymore.

‘It should be my thyroid, I’m having my spine looked at.’
