‘Kick These Young Motherfu**king Asses’: Russell Westbrook Not Worried About Lakers’ Old Team

The NBA off season witnessed some wild signings this year. Many big names have now become part of new organisations. However, one team that stood out this time were the Los Angeles Lakers. Notably, due to the blockbuster trade to bring in Russell Westbrook.

We all know that Westbrook is not afraid to put out his opinion. Likewise, in a recent interview, the Lakers’ old roster was brought up. Unsurprisingly, Westbrook stood with his new team. However, he answered the question in a way only Westbrook could pull off.

Russell Westbrook says Lakers will beat young teams

While on the SiriusXM, the host hilariously said that Westbrook is one of the youngest players on the Lakers. The 32 YO gave the perfect response to it, showing absolutely no concerns over their age.

“We got a team full of nice experienced vets that’s going to kick these young motherfu*king asses.”

Moreover, he claims they are going to have no trouble going through the younger teams, Russell Westbrook said: “We got a team full of nice experienced vets that’s going to kick these young motherfu*king asses.” We all know that Brodie is confident. However, Lakers age may just be an issue.

The Lakers only have 6 players who are under the age of 30 on their current roster. Even though Westbrook is 32, he is the 7th youngest player on the roster. This goes to show how old this Lakers team really is.

They have 4 players who are 36 years or more on their roster. Hence, there the concerns are apt at the moment. However, what people have failed to focus on is the calibre of players that they have signed.

Can Lakers win with this roster?

Going by just age, many people have lost hopes in Lakers becoming championships. However, that really isn’t the case.

Through their new signings, they have managed to create a great balance in their roster. Moreover, they have also solved few problems from last year. For example, they improved their perimeter shooter by signing sharpshooter Wayne Ellington who shot 42% from beyond the arc last season.

They improved their playmaking by adding Russell Westbrook, who has averaged a triple double 4 times in the last 5 seasons. Similarly, they have added efficient pieces in all areas.

Another thing to look at is they have great youth players as well. The Lakers have one of the best big men in Anthony Davis. Horton Tucker showed out offensively last season. They also signed Malik Monk to boost their young side. Hence, the Lakers do have a real shot at winning the title this season.
