Love Island 2021 stars Faye Winter and Teddy Soares have definitely had their fair share of ups and downs, with the couple getting real about their romance in tonight’s episode.

Faye, who’s very much divided fans over the course of the series, will open up about their relationship during their final date.

As the pair head for a private rose petal-filled pool, she tells Teddy: ‘I thought I just needed to stay on my own, and I wasn’t going to open up to you but it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done.

‘From there, we’ve had our ups and downs, more so my fault than yours… I was almost waiting for that opportunity for you to f**k up so I could run instead of falling for you.’

Teddy says: ‘I knew, in the back of my mind, we needed it to realise how we can recover from s**t situations.’

And as the conversation continues, Teddy tells Faye there’s something ‘on the tip of his tongue’.

Fans of the show were left upset over scenes in a recent episode, which saw Faye on the warpath after a video from Casa Amor which showed Teddy admitting he was attracted to bombshell Clarisse Juliette.

Although he stayed loyal to her, she was left fuming, with her outburst sparking 24,000 Ofcom complaints.

However, Faye later apologised and the pair have since been inseparable, with them making it through the most recent public vote, which saw Mary Bedford and Aaron Simpson dumped from the villa.

During an Instagram Q&A, Teddy’s family addressed how they feel about the heated interactions between Teddy and Faye and whether they think Faye’s apology was genuine.

When asked how they feel about the way Faye treated Teddy, they responded: ‘We have to bear in mind, we’re not shown the entirety of every situation.

‘Yes we don’t agree with how Faye reacted but if her apology was genuine then we see potential growth.’

They added that they are ‘happy Teddy conducted himself as a true gentleman would’.

Love Island returns tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
