Yordenis Ugas Assures He Won’t Get Knocked Out by Manny Pacquiao: “I’m 100 Percent Certain”

On Saturday night, the hardcore lovers of the sport will witness Manny Pacquiao return to the ring to fight against Yordenis Ugas. The veteran will compete under the big lights after a prolonged hiatus. However, as he still is an active face in the fight world, fans are eager to see him give his absolute best in this dynamic collision.

Moving into this fight, ‘Pacman’ will be an absolute favorite against Ugas, who hasn’t been in the limelight. But the latter is truly confident on putting on a show and eventually leaving the ring as a winner.

Ahead of the fight, both the fighters and their teams took part in a pre-fight press conference. When ’54 Milagros’ was asked whether he’d get knocked out by Manny Pacquiao, he responded (via a translator), “I’m 100 percent certain he cannot knock me out. I’ve done all the work and all the preparation over these past six years. I’ve really been hitting my stride and I don’t think Manny Pacquiao can knock me out.” 

‘Pacman’ over the past couple of years hasn’t been an active fighter in the welterweight roster. In fact, his last fight at the 147-pound landscape came in 2019. On the other hand, his adversary has been consistent with his boxing run.

Despite this, Pacquiao and Ugas are now sailing on the same boat with the winner potentially opening himself up for a fight against Crawford or Spence Jr.

Manny Pacquiao has unquestionably gone past his prime. However, he holds immense abilities to upset any bigwig in front of him. That said, if the Cuban boxer underestimates the 42-year-old by any means, needless to say, he’ll end up putting himself in a vulnerable spot.

However, with his above comments, it seems Ugas, who is in for something serious, won’t give away an easy win to the Filipino Senator. Moreover, he is no pushover as he holds the WBA world title.
