‘I like women’: Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards admits to cheating on Amber Rose and won’t ‘deprive myself of my true nature’

Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards has admitted to cheating on Amber Rose, saying he can’t ‘deprive myself of my true nature’.
This week, Amber, who shares a 22-month-old son, Slash Electric, with the music executive, accused AE of cheating on her with at least 12 women, and signalled that their relationship was over.
In an Instagram Live with DJ Big Von, AE confessed to cheating on his girlfriend of three years, saying: ‘I woke up to this s*** man… I thought “s***, I got caught.” I got caught before, you know what I’m saying? And she’s just had enough, obviously.’
When asked if it was more than 12 women, AE said: ‘I don’t know’ and started laughing.
The 33-year-old continued: ‘I love her, though. That’s, like, my best friend, the mother of my son. I love Bash, my stepson too, you know what I’m saying. But that’s me. But…I like women.
‘At the end of the day, I don’t think anybody can be happy or successful if you’re not truly yourself, whether other people understand it or blame you or wrong you for it or critique you for it. It’s just who I am, and it’s not how she wants to be loved.
‘She tried to put up with it and look the other way, but she couldn’t, and I’m not mad at her. She had enough.’

AE said that while Amber had suggested they could stay together if he publicly apologised, he doesn’t want to live ‘depriving himself’.
He said: ‘I mean, she texted me like, if I apologise publicly and all this s***, you know, she love me but I don’t want to keep doing that to her.
‘I know that I could stop [cheating]. I could give her a good, solid six months and just really like, deprive myself of my true nature for as long as I can take it but I don’t want to live like that.’
AE was then asked why he didn’t suggest an open relationship with Amber, but the star – who is the vice president of A&R at Def Jam Recordings – didn’t know how he’d feel having to stay at home with the children while she went out on dates.
He quipped: ‘I’m just trying to have my cake and eat it too.’
Amber, 38, had exposed her ex on her Instagram Stories, calling out his ‘disrespect’ and ‘lack of loyalty’.
The model wrote: ‘I’m tired of getting cheated on and being embarrassed behind the scenes. All 12 of y’all bums (the ones that I know of there’s probably more) can have him. Y’all very much knew he was in a relationship with a baby and y’all decided to f*** him anyway I saw all the texts and DMs. Y’all were well aware but y’all don’t owe me any loyalty so it’s whatever.
‘I can’t be the only one fighting for my family anymore. I’ve been so loyal and transparent but I haven’t gotten the same energy in return. I’ll never say the girls names because I’m not in the business of ruining lives but y’all know who y’all are.
‘As for him… The lack of loyalty and the disrespect is ridiculous and I’m done.’

The pair started dating in 2018 and welcomed their son Slash the following year.
Amber is also mum to eight-year-old son Sebastian from her marriage to Wiz Khalifa, who she split from in 2016.
Since calling out AE, Amber has wiped her entire Instagram feed, but announced on her stories that her SlutWalk will be taking place this year.
The star joined the movement calling for an end to rape culture by establishing her own event in 2014, where women and queer people protest against slut shaming and victim blaming.
She previously told Harper’s Bazaar: ‘It doesn’t matter what we have on, it’s still not an excuse to come and touch me inappropriately or assume I want to f*** you—because I don’t.’
