Rachel Riley celebrated her 3000th episode of Countdown today, a remarkable feat which thankfully was marked suitably with some pretty sound advice on the word board: ‘Poo anally.’
The 35-year-old was surprised by her partner Pasha Kovalev and their daughter Maven as Anne Robinson opened today’s programme.
It was adorable.
But the tone was swiftly lowered when an unfortunate collection of letters formed ‘poo anally’.
Naturally, fans were cracking up over the sheer chaos that unfolded, but Rachel was obviously in hysterics too when one of her followers shared a photo of the moment and joked: ‘What a way to commemorate 3000 shows eh.’
‘Is there any other way?!’ she teased.
Well, the board doesn’t lie (Picture: Rachel Riley/Twitter)
Rachel began her career on Countdown in 2009 when she was 22, replacing long-serving mathematician Carol Vorderman.
However, even 11 years later, she admitted she still feels like ‘the new girl’.
Ahead of today’s episode, she shared a photo of herself in the studio and wrote on Twitter: ‘Today I had a big surprise in studio, complete with my favourite of surprise guests!
‘I’ll always be the new girl but who can believe it’s been 3000 shows already!
‘Thanks Countdown family.’
Countdown airs weekdays at 2.10pm on Channel 4.
