Hugo Hammond has taken a moment to clarify his latest Love Island comments, after spilling some serious tea over Liberty Poole and Jake Cornish.
Following his exit from the villa, the PE teacher sent us all into a frenzy when he claimed that Liberty ‘pulled him for chats’ in unaired scenes.
Taking to TikTok, he shared a video with the comment: ‘When Lib pulls you for chats after Jakey wanted to get to know Millie but the show didn’t air it to protect “Jiberty” and now this happens.’
‘Imagine what could have been,’ he added in the caption.
However, after giving us all severe whiplash, he has now made sure to explain the video.
Sliding into the comments section below, the former Islander penned: ‘FYI, this was the day after Cinda and Millie came in, literally over a month ago!

‘Relax, no ones getting digged out. Jakeys my boy and Lib is class [sic].’
‘Both Lib and Jake are genuine – I have no idea why it fizzled out, I wasn’t there so I can’t really comment,’ he added.
‘Looking forward to seeing them both soon x.’
Liberty and Jake walked out of the villa together on last night’s episode, days before the final, as their relationship came to an abrupt end.

Following the emotional exit, Lib lifted the lid on what led to her romance unravelling, explaining that the infamous ‘movie night’ – where the Islanders were shown clips of previous comments made in the series – didn’t help things.
The episode included the Islanders settling down to unseen moments over their time in the competition, and included footage of Jake confessing that he didn’t fancy her enough to ‘rip her clothes off’.
In a candid chat with the Sun, she said: ‘The clips hurt me, what was said, and I sort of swept it under the carpet and didn’t address it properly and one thing led to another, where it just became a bigger issue,’ she told The Sun.

‘And then we found out there were differences between us in how we see things and communicated about things. We just weren’t communicating in the same way we used to.
‘I was in love with Jake. And, of course, I still love and care for Jake. You don’t end things then just get over someone like that. But I think, in the long run, I made the right decision. You have to put your own feelings first and to make yourself happy. And that is what I have done.’
Love Island continues daily, at 9pm, on ITV2.
