Manny Pacquiao vs Yordenis Ugas: Porter, Mayweather, and Boxing Pros Give Their Prediction
The return of Manny Pacquiao has clearly alarmed the entire combat world. After two years of his win over Keith Thurman for the WBA belt, ‘Pacman’ will fight Yordenis Ugas for the same title tonight. While several people envision it to be a stellar comeback, a good deal of people feel that 42-year-old Pacquiao has passed his prime.
Hence, it leaves the door open to both Pacquiao and Ugas finding ways of winning the showdown. The debate has also split the boxing world into two halves. Ugas, an orthodox, has received the biggest fight of his career on very short notice. So, it puts him a few steps behind. However, a hefty paycheck is on his way.
Meanwhile, several veterans have predicted how the scrap can go down. For all the obvious reasons, none of the stars like Victor Ortiz, Garcia, and Nonito Donaire, or Shawn Porter have ruled away Yordenis Ugas’ chances. But they have favored the Filipino legend to vanquish ’54 Milagros’.
Jeff Mayweather had a very clear response to the fight. He claimed to not know much about Yordenis Ugas. Hence, he favored Manny Pacquiao to hand over a beat down to the Cuban pugilist. Meanwhile, Shawn Porter, who has already beaten Ugas, denied ruling away the Cuban’s prowess.
The former champion tagged the nearing collision to be an interesting scrap, posing both men as favorites to have their hands raised. Besides, Robert Guerrero’s father also backed Manny Pacquiao in the fight, while his son is preparing to face Victor Ortiz in the undercard. So, it seems that the weight is more on ‘Pac-Man’ and Ugas will have to land an upset to retain his WBA welterweight world title.
