WWE SummerSlam 2021 preview: UK start time, matches, live stream and more

What a main event! (Photo: WWE)

WWE SummerSlam is in Sin City tonight as the biggest party of the summer comes to the Allegiant Stadium.

Seven championships are on the line tonight including two generations colliding in a colossal main event, with grudge matches littering the rest of the show.

The huge event is the company’s first full stadium show since the pandemic, and WWE looks to be putting its best foot forward with a stacked card.

The past few weeks have shown that wrestling is more alive with a live crowd as its heartbeat, and the stars are sure to be striving for an extra level of energy to deliver on a huge stage set to surpass this year’s WrestleMania.

There’s also the potential for surprises, and after CM Punk debuted on AEW Rampage last night you could be forgiven for thinking WWE need to deliver something big.

As ever, we’ve put together our regular guide with the full match card, streaming details and more.

Here’s everything you need to know about the show…

When is WWE SummerSlam 2021?

WWE presents SummerSlam tonight (August 21) with all the action on the main card kicking off at 1am for fans in the UK.

How can you watch WWE SummerSlam 2021?

The ThunderDome is truly a thing of the past, with full capacity crowds returning so the only way to get involved if you’re not lucky enough to be in attendance is watching on a screen.

Of course, there will be a Kickoff show available on the WWE Network, WWE.com, the WWE app, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Twitch at midnight.

For fans in the UK, you can tune into the main SummerSlam show by either streaming live or watching on demand via the WWE Network – or order the event via BT Sport Box Office.

What can you expect from WWE SummerSlam?

When WWE has their back against the wall, they usually excel – and they have to be feeling the heat after Rampage last night.

Since last year’s SummerSlam, the company has been largely bulletproof when it comes to big monthly events, with the in-ring action often rising above the sometimes questionable storylines.

Roman Reigns and John Cena will be a fitting main event for a show of this size, but look for the Tribal Chief to retain to keep his job and the gold, while Bobby Lashley should also retain over Goldberg in a quick, hard hitting match.

Nikki A.S.H. deserves a longer run, but the Raw Women’s Division needs a major shake-up with Charlotte Flair having only wrestled matches featuring Nikki or Rhea Ripley since May.

Seth Rollins and Edge will steal the show and it would seem fitting for the Drip King to steal a win to keep one of the company’s most engaging stories rolling.

The Usos will likely retain, and SummerSlam seems like the perfect time to drop a bombshell with Dominik Mysterio turning on his legendary dad Rey to shake up the blue brand.

Sasha Banks could take the title off Bianca Belair, while WWE could shake things up right away with Toni Storm or even Becky Lynch immediately stepping up as her challenger, while the tonight but the time to pull the trigger on Damian Priest and move Sheamus up the card to face Lashley.

Jinder Mahal will probably find a way to overcome Drew McIntyre and keep that going, and the Raw Tag Team Title match seems genuinely unpredictable – but maybe this is RK-Bro’s time.
