BREAKING: Alexander Gustafsson Out of UFC Fight Night – Will Not Fight Paul Craig
Alexander Gustafsson is a veteran MMA fighter and has been competing professionally since 2007. ‘The Mauler’ made his UFC debut back in November 2009 and has since been a mainstay in the company. The fighter had a great start to his MMA career and at one point was (15-1) in his MMA career.
However, everything changed after the fighter lost to Jon Jones at the UFC 165 event. This fight was for the light heavyweight championship, and a victory here could have propelled Gustafsson to UFC greatness. ‘The Mauler’ however lost the fight via unanimous decision. Since then, the fighter has never been the same and has won just 3 fights since then.

The fighter last competed in the UFC back in the UFC Fight Island 3 event against Fabricio Werdum. ‘The Mauler’ lost this fight via a 1st round submission. This loss was Gustafsson’s 3rd loss in a row. Now the fighter was set to face Paul Craig at the UFC Fight Night 191 event. ‘The Mauler’ would have loved to win this fight and get back to winning ways.

What next for Alexander Gustafsson?
Many people believed that Gustafsson’s fight against Craig was his last opportunity to prove his worth in the UFC. Gustafsson’s recent record has been dismal and many believe that he was running out of chances in the UFC.
Now as ‘The Mauler’ has been ruled out of his next fight with Craig. People have started speculating as to when the fighter will return and who he will face once he does. While it is highly possible that Gustafsson will eventually face Craig once he is fit for action, one can never be sure.
