Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Stephanie Beatriz has given birth to her first child, a baby girl, with her husband Brad Hoss.

The 40-year-old, who plays Detective Rosa Diaz in the hit sitcom, took to Instagram on Sunday to share the exciting news and introduce her daughter to the world.

In what is perhaps a coincidence – or a deliberate decision, taking inspiration from her popular character’s name – the actress has called her new-born Rosaline.

Sharing a photo of herself looking fresh-faced and delighted, sitting in a car next to her baby’s car seat, which she perfectly co-ordinated with in her lilac top, the star wrote: ‘BÉBÉ HAS ARRIVED in style (and more importantly SAFETY) in @nuna_usa’s Pipa car seat.

‘Her name is Rosaline: pronounced Roz-uh-line.’

Reflecting on the experience of giving birth, she continued: ‘I’m very very in awe of the entire experience of having a kiddo. it is INCREDIBLE and HARD AF and BEAUTIFUL and EMOTIONAL, and I can’t remember ever being this amazed and feeling so overwhelmingly full of gratitude.

‘Roz, you are so cool.’

Rosaline’s little legs and feet could be seen in her seat, but the hood was up, obscuring her face, as Stephanie carefully held on to one to her right foot and place a comforting hand on her tummy.

People flocked to her comments to offer congratulations, including Community star Yvette Nicole Brown who wrote: ‘CONGRATS, friend!!! And welcome to the world Rosaline!’

Brooklyn Nine-Nine co-star Dirk Blocker, who plays Hitchcock, also shared his best wishes with a string of emojis in the comments, including hearts, clapping hands and hands raised up in excitement.

The In The Heights star and husband brad tied the knot in 2018, revealing their pregnancy in People magazine in June.

Stephanie, who identifies as bisexual, said her marriage didn’t make her ‘any less queer’ as she was ‘able to be my fullest, most authentic self around Brad’.

The actress admitted that she hadn’t seen children in her future until she met Brad.

Speaking to the publication, she revealed: ‘I didn’t think that a committed partnership was really for me. I couldn’t really see kids.

‘It wasn’t that I was closed off to it. It was more that I couldn’t quite see how a baby fit into the life that I was building.’
