‘Jose Aldo Is 100 Times the Fighter You Are and Ever Will Be’- Conor McGregor Roasts Khabib Nurmagomedov on Social Media

UFC lightweight star Conor McGregor took to social media and went after his former rival Khabib Nurmagomedov for his recent comments. ‘The Eagle’ appeared at a press conference and had some rather unsavory things to say about Jose Aldo. Chiefly, Nurmagomedov brought into question Jose Aldo’s motivation to fight these days and considered fighters like Petr Yan to be real champions.

McGregor didn’t take too kindly to Nurmagomedov’s words his former opponent in Aldo whom he has come to respect over the years. The Irishman blasted Khabib Nurmagomedov for being at a press conference despite being a retired fighter. Moreover, he made sure to put Aldo over Nurmagomedov in the all-time rankings as a champion.

Another press conference? Haha for what? You are doing a whole load of nothing mate. You and cerrone where locked in to fight since way back and you never had the courage. You ran away and now all you do is talk like bitch. Aldo is 100 times the fighter you are, and ever will be.

It’s hard to deny that Jose Aldo isn’t a decorated champion since he’s been on top of the sport for over a decade. In fact, many fans took exception to Nurmagomedov’s comments that were disparaging to Aldo’s overall legacy. McGregor and Aldo have grown to form a mutual respect for each other since their UFC 194 bout and it’s very telling over the years.

Jose Aldo’s MMA career: An overview

The King of Rio’ has been nothing short of sensational through his career and he continues to push the envelope even today. Chiefly, he’s not been one to rest on his laurels of being a credentialed UFC and WEC champion. The main blemish against his UFC run is unfortunately the manner in which it ended against Conor McGregor in 14 seconds.

The spark KO notwithstanding, Aldo has now reinvented himself at bantamweight despite already fighting for the championship belt. He continues to compete with the very best that the division has to offer and is now a divisional mainstay.

Aldo is sure to be a nightmare match-up for many fighters in the division and he can be a thorn in their side for a championship run. The 36-year-old believes he has a lot to offer and can potentially be a two-division champion at the end of his current run. Only time will tell if that goal comes to fruition, however, his legacy is solidified.
