Mike Tyson, Roy Jones Jr., Evander Holyfield Have “Embraced My Movement,” Claims Jake Paul

Jake Paul claims that the boxing community is accepting him ahead of his fight against Tyron Woodley. Paul spoke to BT Sport about the legends of boxing accepting his movement and the transition from YouTube to boxing.

“Yeah look, I mean there’s been a lot of naysayers and people mad at me for coming into this sport. I’ve, you know, ruffled the feathers of the whole MMA community. But yeah, there’s definitely been the other side of it where legends like Mike Tyson, and Roy Jones Jr, Evander Holyfield, they’ve embraced my movement and so that’s been awesome to see.”

Jake Paul initially received a lot of backlash for fighting celebrities and not professional boxers. Hence, Jake Paul wanted to fight Tyron Woodley to prove to people that he can fight top-level strikers. Tyron Woodley, the former UFC welterweight champion, holds wins over the likes of Robbie Lawler and Darren Till.

Dear, @TWooodley thanks for being the second MMA fighter on my hit list.

After defending his title for nearly three years, Woodley lost to Kamaru Usman and has not won a fight since. Hence, he crossed over to boxing to revive his combat career after his UFC release.

Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley

Jake ‘The Problem Child’ Paul takes on Tyron ‘The Chosen One’ Woodley on Sunday 29 August. The fight takes place at Rocket Mortgage Field House in Paul’s hometown of Cleveland, Ohio.

Roy Jones Jr. has publicly claimed that Jake Paul has a chance to win against the former UFC champion. ‘Captain Hook’ has stated that the fight will come down to who has the better boxing background and training.

Jake Paul is 3-0 in his professional boxing career with wins against fellow YouTuber Aneson Gib, Nate Robinson, and Ben Askren. Akin to all the previous names, Tyron Woodley will make his professional boxing debut against Jake Paul.

Paul and Woodley have been going at it on social media and have not held back with the trash talk. ‘The Problem Child’ seems to be so confident that he offered to bet his whole purse at the press conference. Given this show ahead of the fight and the expectations, a Jake Paul loss could be cataclysmic for his movement.

Who do you think will prevail come 29 August?
