The Crown’s Dominic West and Jonny Lee Miller have been spotted in character as Prince Charles and Sir John Major.

The pair stepped out on the Herefordshire set to film the fifth season of the hit Netflix drama and shoot a ballroom scene based at Balmoral.

Actor Jonny donned a grey wig and spectacles as he got into character as the former Prime Minister.

It’s the first time that the 48-year-old has been seen in the role after being announced earlier this year.

The next season of Netflix period drama The Crown, which is due to come out in 2022, will pick up the depiction of the royal family in the 1990s.

Sir John was Prime Minister from 1990 to 1997. He previously served as Chancellor of the Exchequer and Foreign Secretary under the Thatcher government from 1987 to 1990.

It’s also expected that Tony Blair will be depicted in the upcoming episodes.

Lesley Manville was also seen as Princess Margaret, while Marcia Warren took on the role of The Queen Mother and Emma Laird Craig was seen in character as Sarah Ferguson.

It comes after The Crown released a first look at actor Dominic and Elizabeth Debicki as Prince Charles and Princess Diana in season five.

The pair are taking over from Josh O’Connor and Emma Corrin as older iterations of the royals.

The cast list is shaping up nicely, with the show having recently revealed the first official look of Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth II.

Other actors who will be starring in season five of The Crown include Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip and Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret.

It’s also been reported that The Crown has cast James Murray to play Prince Andrew in the final two seasons of the Netflix show.

According to reports from The Sun, Cutting It star James will play Prince Andrew, replacing Tom Byrne who took on the role in earlier series.

The Crown has 24 nominations at the 2021 Emmy Awards, which are due to take place in September.

The Crown is available to watch on Netflix.
