Drakeo The Ruler has spoken out over his reported arrest after his Uber driver was pulled over for having tinted windows.
The 28-year-old rapper filmed the incident in an Instagram Live on Sunday as he travelled in the car with his toddler son.
In footage which circulated on social media, Drakeo – real name Darrell Caldwell – is seen sitting in the car and filming himself while a male police officer talked to him outside.
One officer is heard informing Drakeo that their supervisor and another unit were at the scene, before adding: ‘We are going to ask you one more time to step out, and if you say no, then we got to do what we got to do to get you out.’
He then warned: ‘And then I’m gonna take you to jail.’
At this point, a shocked Drakeo exclaimed: ‘This is crazy. What the f**k is going on, bro? Why are you all pulling me? What did I do? You all pulling me over.
‘You all were pulling my Uber driver, bro. What is going on?’
Another male officer from the other side of the car is heard requesting: ‘Just get out of the car and we’ll handle this.’
Drakeo continued: ‘He said y’all pulling us over for tinted windows, this is an Uber driver, bro. This has nothing to do… what is he talking about?’
The first officer insisted: ‘We’ll explain everything.’
The rapper eventually got out of the car and repeatedly told the officers he was filming an Instagram Live, adding that he had ‘nothing on me’.
At least two officers were heard asking Drakeo ‘not to resist’ as they tried to restrain him. However, it appears a small struggle ensued before the camera cut off.
Hours later, Drakeo addressed the incident in his Instagram Stories and said: ‘You b***h a*s n****s thought I was gone stay in jail huh just know I seen all that s**t yall was poppin too [sic].’
He added in another post: ‘So I drop the Ingleweird song and the next day my Uber get pulled over for illegal tint wit my son in the car yeah iight [sic].’
Drakeo is said to be based in California and Jeff Weiss claimed the incident took place at in Los Angeles at 11am on Sunday.
