Love Island star Liam Reardon has insisted that he would have told Millie Court about what happened with Lillie Haynes in Casa Amor ‘straight away’.

During the grand finale of Love Island 2021, Liam and Millie were crowned the winners of the ITV series, with Chloe and Toby finishing as the runners-up ahead of Faye and Teddy in third place and Kaz and Tyler in fourth.

While speaking to host Laura Whitmore, Liam finally asked Millie to be his girlfriend, after the couple had already become exclusive and said that they loved each other.

Their Love Island journey wasn’t always smooth-sailing, as after kissing Lillie in Casa Amor, Liam returned to the main villa on his own much to Millie delight – before Lillie entered to drop some truth bombs about their time together.

During their chat with Laura, Millie admitted that she was ‘prepared for him to come back with someone else’, before out that ‘the worst’ had occurred behind her back.

When Laura acknowledged that Liam ‘didn’t really have much of a chance to talk to Millie after coming back from Casa Amor’, the presenter asked what his plan would have been if Lillie hadn’t made her shock entrance.

‘Immediately after the firepit, I would have pulled Millie straight away and told her everything straight away,’ he replied.

Liam added that the situation was ‘probably made a lot worse’ when Lillie appeared, describing the turn of events as ‘not ideal’.

While at the time, Millie told Liam that their relationship was over, Liam said in retrospect that he refused to believe that statement, continuing in his pursuit of Millie.

In the end, they ended up getting back together, winning the public vote to win the entire show.

Speaking after their win, Millie said: ‘I cannot believe we’ve just been crowned the winners of Love Island!

‘Thank you so much, everybody who voted for us, it means the world.
