Liam Reardon left Love Island fans astounded during Monday night’s final as he said he hadn’t used a pen since he was 16.
The Welshman, 22, made the statement while writing his declaration of love to Millie Court, 24.
Sitting with his fellow contestants Toby Aromolaran, 22, and Tyler Cruickshank, 26, in the bedroom, Liam said: ‘I don’t think I’ve used a pen since I was about 16,’ prompting his fellow star’s jaws to drop.
A shot of the first line of the letter could be seen, which read: ‘Declaration of love to my beautiful Millie,’ although he missed out the word ‘love’ before adding it in with an arrow.
Taking to Twitter to express their shock, one viewer wrote: ‘How has Liam gone the last 6 years without having to use a pen?’
‘Nah how can you not have used a pen in 6 years? Also how is Liam 22 man looks like a 30 year old boiler engineer,’ another questioned.

Reading his declaration to Millie, Liam said: ‘Millie Moo, I’d like to take us on a trip down memory lane to the start of our journey.
‘The moment I first laid eyes upon you, wearing a bright pink swimsuit, piercing blue eyes which I immediately got lost in and a perfect mouth and nose, all of which contribute to your beautiful face which I sometimes think has been crafted from the heavens.
‘The days went on and our connection grew and grew until we shared our first kiss on the swing seats. That kiss was special, as if we were two teenagers locking lips for the first time.

‘I then had a challenge thrown my way and I was so sorry for what I had done.
‘Seeing you distraught was so hard to experience and I know I never wanted to make you feel that way ever again.
‘We now have a new journey to venture into, life outside the villa, and I can bring my lovely Essex girl down to Merthyr Tydfil.
‘Our hearts are like two magnets absolutely drawn to each other.
