“Dana White You Got My Phone Number”- Tokyo Olympics 2020 Champion Gable Stevenson on Move to UFC
Gable Stevenson is a man on demand at the moment. Stevenson won the heavyweight freestyle wrestling gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Promotions like the UFC, Bellator MMA, and even WWE have explained their desire to sign him since.
Recently, Stevenson was set to meet Dana White for a meeting. However, the duo couldn’t eventually meet. Stevenson explained why it didn’t happen in a recent chat with Ariel Helwani. He also said that the UFC President has his number in case the latter wants to connect with him.

“Meeting did not happen. I got to Vegas and I was on go, whole day, all day. I had not time to reach out after that,” said Stevenson. “He’s got my number, he could reach out to me,” he added.
“Like I said, I wait my turn. Dana you got my phone number, my instagram. I don’t run to people. I do my job. I wrestle, I win championships,” Stevenson said further.
Can Gable Stevenson be a challenge for the top UFC heavyweights?
The likes of Francis Ngannou and Ciryl Gane are the top names in the heavyweight division of the UFC. There is also former champion Stipe Miocic. Jon Jones has also teased a move up to the division. Each one of those fighters possesses a unique challenge for their opponents.
While Ngannou is a one-shot knockout artist, the rest are arguably more well-rounded. Stevenson is certainly a man with unmatched wrestling credentials. But, if that’s enough for MMA, remains to be seen. He will certainly have to polish up his striking before making a move to the UFC.

Top Olympic wrestlers like Henry Cejudo, Daniel Cormier, and more have previously been immensely successful after their transition to MMA. Fans can’t wait to see if Stevenson can follow the same path. However, one can’t deny fight fans are buzzed to see the talented wrestler make his way to the Octagon.
