Did JB Smoove just confirm Tobey Maguire is in Spider-Man: No Way Home?

The internet was ablaze last year at the thought of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield returning as their respective Peter Parkers for Spider-Man: No Way Home.
And while Sony Pictures refused to confirm the major crossover, we may have just got confirmation from somebody else who is probably hiding out from Kevin Feige right now.
No Way Home star JB Smoove appears to have confirmed that Tobey, 46, will be in the blockbuster, as he excitedly discussed the additions to the cast.
The trailer for the Tom Holland’s third standalone outing as Spider-Man confirms that Jamie Foxx is back to play Electro, reprising his role from The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and the presumed dead villains Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe) and Doctor Octopus (Alfred Molina) from Spider-Man and its sequel respectively have been resurrected by the multiverse.
JB, who plays Julius Dell, spoke to The Illuminerdi about the film and said: ‘Jamie Foxx is coming back, baby. That’s my dude right there. I’m very excited about it.’
The 55-year-old was then asked: ‘Which Spider-Man were you excited to see Tom Holland share the screen with, Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield?’, with JB replying: ‘Tobey Maguire, of course.’

Fans joked that JB was about to be ‘in the basement’ with serial blabbermouths Mark Ruffalo and Tom Holland, with one person writing: ‘RIP to this dude.’
Tom, 25, previously denied that Tobey – who took the role of Peter Parker in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man films – and Andrew, 38, who starred in The Amazing Spider-Man, would be in No Way Home.
He said: ‘It would be amazing if they were because they haven’t told me that yet and I am Spider-Man and I’ve read the script from the beginning to the end. So it would be a miracle if they could keep that from me.’
Andrew also denied that he would be back for the movie.
However, the multiverse does offer up endless possibilities, so we’ll have to wait until December to see if Peter meets alternate versions of himself.

The trailer, officially revealed during CinemaCon on Monday night, shows Peter dealing with the aftermath of J Jonah Jameson revealing Spider-Man’s true identity.
While he and MJ (Zendaya) are now an item, Peter’s family and friends are drawn into the mess, and the police believe he was responsible for killing Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal), so he visits Doctor Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to ask if he can make it so the big reveal never happened.
Dr Strange obliges, but after Peter messes with the spell at the last minute, they tamper with time and space, and the multiverse rears its ugly head.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is out on December 17.
