Doctor Strange’s sweary mug steals the show in Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer
It’s a minor detail but it was a highlight for fans (Picture: Sony)
Spider-Man: No Way Home has got Marvel fans talking thanks to its newest trailer, confirming the return of some old villains.
Star Tom Holland is back for his third standalone film as the web-slinging Peter Parker, with Zendaya returning as his love interest MJ.
In the new trailer we see Peter reach out to Doctor Strange, played by Benedict Cumberbatch, as his unmasking as Spider-Man to the world sees his life spiral out of control.
The teenager pleads with him to sort it so everyone forgets he is Spider-Man, and despite being warned by Wong (Benedict Wong) not to do it, he goes ahead.
Only when Peter starts questioning things halfway through the process everything goes wrong, creating multi-verses that spell trouble (and the return of Tobey Maguire’s Spidey if the rumours are to be believed).
Despite the incredible set pieces on display and the comeback of Doctor Octopus and Green Goblin, there was a minor detail that caused just as much buzz.
When Peter chats to Stephen Strange about getting his help, people spotted he was holding a rather explicit mug in one hand.
A phrase we’re sure Stephen has wanted to say (Picture: Sony)
Keen fans managed to zoom in on the item, realising it read ‘For…sake’, with an image of a fox in between the words so it spells out ‘For fox sake’.
No doubt Stephen has found himself wanting to say the rude version of the phrase numerous times when dealing with literally any other Avenger.
Cue excitement on Twitter.
Sony officially unveiled the trailer a day after the teaser was leaked online. Might as well, eh?
It was previously rumoured that Andrew Garfield, another former Peter Parker, would be appearing in No Way Home alongside previous MJ Kirsten Dunst and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy.
These rumours have been met by denials, but the multiverse plot is only fanning the flames of speculation.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is in cinemas on December 17.
