Joe Lycett is baring all to present a live life drawing special for the BBC.

Life Drawing Live! is being billed as the UK’s largest ever ‘live, life drawing masterclass’ and will air on BBC Two and BBC Four following on from last year’s series.

The two-hour special will feature life models disrobing and assuming poses inspired by famous artworks.

Joe, who also presents The Great British Sewing Bee for the BBC, will front the programme across both channels, while presenter Josie d’Arby will assess the work of those taking part from home.

Experts Daphne Todd and Lachlan Goudie will help to provide guests with guidance during the special.

On BBC Two, viewers can watch the amateur drawers create their works, while on BBC Four artist Nicky Philipps will share details on the artworks that inspired the poses.

Joe said: ‘Like many people I found great solace from making art during lockdown and am really excited to help get the nation creative through learning about life drawing. Any nudity is just an added bonus!’

Life Drawing Live! will be broadcast from English Heritage’s Wrest Park in Bedfordshire in September.

It comes after comedian Joe said that he feared he had overstepped the mark with his recent on air stunt, as he revealed his successful attempt to get drink brand Yop! to stop using white PET plastic for its packaging.

The comedian wanted to highlight the harmful impact on the environment as the plastic is much harder to recycle.

In July he pretended to storm off live on air during Steph’s Packed Lunch to draw attention to the issue, and was ultimately successful as Yop! committed to changing their bottles to clear PET plastic in 2022, and will also include recycled plastic in its packaging.

Joe has hosted The Great British Sewing Bee since 2019. He previously narrated Ibiza Weekender and has also appeared on shows such as 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, QI and Would I Lie To You?.
