Love Island’s Faye Winter has been compared to 2017 contestant and icon Olivia Attwood when she jumped into the pool fully clothed in last night’s final.

It’s a Love Island tradition to end the show with a summer ball, a chance for the finalists to enjoy one last night of fun before meeting the harsh judgment of the public’s vote and head back into the real world

Typically the night ends with the islanders all jumping into the pool together with their ballgowns and suits still on.

But in 2017, Olivia established another accidental tradition, that of diving headfirst with your legs flailing in the air.

Olivia’s ’swan dive’ and the moment she seems to be flying in the air has become a popular meme among the fans of the ITV2 dating show.

So when Faye seemed to be replicating the same move, viewers couldn’t help but point out the similarity.

‘Faye rivalling Olivia for the most entertaining dive into the pool,’ said one fan on Twitter as another person wondered: ‘Did Faye just do an Olivia Attwood style dive into the pool?’

‘Faye jumping in the pool was just as good as Olivia’s,’ added a third viewer while someone else commented: ‘Olivia Attwood walked so Faye could run.’

Others however saw the similarity between the two dives to be less of an accidental coincidence, saying Faye has been purposefully trying to copy Olivia the whole series.

‘Faye trying to copy Olivia again with the dive into the pool,’ said one fan. ‘Been saying it since the start Faye wanted to be Olivia Attwood sooo bad,’ commented another.

‘Faye topped of the season by jumping in the pool like Olivia Attwood lmao she’s been trying to be her the whole series,’ added a third commenter.

‘Not Faye diving to really solidify being the Olivia Attwood of the season,’ wrote another person.

Faye has been linked to Olivia throughout the entire season due to her strong will and fiery nature.

Opening up about this while appearing on the official Love Island podcast, Olivia admitted she didn’t think Faye was trying to emulate her on purpose.

‘She’s not trying to copy me, she just has a few similarities, if any,’ said the former Islander.

Faye came in third place with her partner Teddy Soares after a hectic few months in the Love Island villa, beating Kaz Kawmi and Tyler Cruickshank, who came in fourth place.

Chloe Burrows and Toby Aromolaran came in second place, with Millie Court and Liam Reardon scooping the £50k prize.

Love Island is available to stream on ITV Hub.
