Massive Fight Added to UFC 267 in Abu Dhabi as Magomed Ankalaev Makes a Return to UFC Action

The UFC returns to Abu Dhabi with UFC 267 in October this year. The promotion has pulled out all the stops in ensuring that their return to Fight Island is action-packed to say the least. The main card features not one but two title fights. Both the bantamweight belt and the light heavyweight belt will be on the line at UFC 267.

The matchups for the card are coming in thick and fast. The most recent addition to the card features a light heavyweight bout between Volkan Oezdemir and Magomed Ankalaev per MMA DNA’s Marcel Dorff. Oezdemir and Ankalaev are ranked 8th and 7th respectively in the UFC’s light heavyweight division.

Volkan Oezdemir vs Magomed Ankalaev will be an epic fight at UFC 267 

Oezdemir and Ankalaev could not have asked for a better card to be a part of. Making a statement win on the same night the light heavyweight crown is being defended is sure to catch the attention of the champion and the matchmakers. While ‘No Time’ has challenged for the title previously, Ankalaev is yet to fight for UFC gold. 

Ankalaev made his UFC debut in March 2018 when succumbed to a submission loss against Paul Craig. Since the loss, Ankalaev has been flawless. He won his next six fights securing stoppage wins in four of those six fights. In his most recent outing, he secured a unanimous decision win over Nikita Krylov in February this year. Ankalaev will be hoping to not only extend his win streak to 7-0 but also establish himself as a force to be reckoned with at 205-pounds. 

‘No Time’ on the other hand, burst onto the scene with a split decision win against Ovince Saint Preux in February 2017. Oezdemir won his next two fights via devastating knockouts against Misha Cirkunov, and Jimi Manuwa to set up a title fight against Daniel Cormier. Oezdemir came up short against Cormier and lost his next two fights. 

‘No Time’ succumbed to a loss against Jiri Prochazka in his last outing. He is 2-1 in his last three fights. He will be aiming to get back into the win column against Ankalaev in October.
