Ricky Gervais had some good news for After Life fans who might be wondering what’s in store for Brandy the dog in season three.
Ricky writes and stars in the Netflix hit about a man called Tony, who is struggling with the loss of his love Lisa (Kerry Godliman).
Falling into depression he considers taking his life, only to be saved by his four legged friend and often relies on her in his time of need.
As work continues on the third and final season, the comedian told viewers not to be concerned about Brandy’s fate.
Getting back into the studio to work on the After Life score, Ricky said on Twitter: ‘In the studio all week recording the score for #AfterLife. It seems to be affecting me emotionally more than usual. Not sure if that’s because the music is so beautiful, the menopause or all the s**t that’s happening in the world.’
Quote tweeting himself he added: ‘Also, the dog does not die.’
He has revealed in the past that Tony’s furry friend not only survives the series, but becomes a much a part of it as Tony himself is.
‘One of the main themes of AfterLife is that a dog can save your life,’ Ricky tweeted earlier this month.
‘This is ramped up in season 3 & she becomes as important as any other character.’
In April the Extras star was spotted outdoors filming with his co-star, a German Shepherd, for scenes between Tony and Lisa before she fell ill.
The home videos have become a source of comfort for Tony following Lisa’s death, and he’s often seen looking back on them when he misses her.

Ricky has previously joked he is ‘too fat and old’ to keep making more episodes.
He confessed: ‘It’s the first time I’ve done a third, I fell in love with characters.
‘I think this should be it. I’m too fat and old, that’s enough. That’s all I can manage.’
After Life is available on Netflix.
