‘Signed, Sealed, Delivered!’- Michael Chandler Ready to Take on Justin Gaethje at Madison Square Garden

UFC lightweight contender Michael Chandler took to Twitter and hyped up his upcoming bout against Justin Gaethje on November 6. Chandler and Gaethje will collide at the mecca of Fight Sports, Madison Square Garden to determine the title landscape at lightweight. The MMA world has been pining for this fight booking and fans can’t contain their excitement now that it’s official.

Making the fight into a reality has been easier said than done as is the case for most high-profile fights. What’s more, both men went back and forth on social media, accusing each other of not wanting to take the fight in the first place. This added vitriol has been the sweetener to a match-up that has already promised to be explosive.

Michael Chandler vs Justin Gaethje: An Overview

Chandler is coming off a loss to Charles Oliveira for the vacant lightweight title at UFC 262 back in May The former multiple-time Bellator MMA champion was on his way to winning before he was stopped with strikes in round 2. He would have grown his profile exponentially had he managed to defeat ‘Do Bronx’ and claim another title.

Michael Chandler’s explosiveness will always be his most dangerous weapon, especially when going up against Gaethje. ‘The Highlight’ is extremely durable and catching him off-guard with a flurry is a prudent path to victory. Trying to go blow for blow with Justin Gaethje has rarely gone in favor of his opponent.

The Trevor Wittman stand-out fighter hasn’t fought since he lost to Khabib Nurmagomedov back in October 2020. He was submitted by the lightweight maestro in what turned out to be his retirement fight. Gaethje was the interim champion going into that fight and he’s already one of the most decorated lightweights ever.

The MMA world expects the bout to be a chaotic fight from the get-go and it’s easy to see why, given their track records. Neither man is particularly keen to take a step back, and it’s often resulted in a violent display for fans to enjoy. Chandler has already begun hyping the fight and the MMA world has certainly circled the bout to be an instant classic.
