Spider-Man fans believe the Sinister Six could feature prominently in the upcoming movie from the franchise.

The new film, Spider-Man: No Way Home, is set for release in December this year and eagle-eyed movie fans think they spotted something important in the trailer which dropped on Tuesday.

The Sinister Six comprises of Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Sandman, Electro, Vulture, and Mysterio.

Sony owns the movie rights for these characters and bosses were planning on releasing a film featuring them.

Fans are also convinced former Spider-Man stars Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield will make an appearance.

Taking to Twitter to share about the theory, one person wrote: ‘So from what I know about #SpiderManNoWayHome there will be a scene where Tom’s Spidey faces the Sinister Six by himself, and is eventually overwhelmed, and there’s a scene where all 3 spider-man divide and conquer, each Spidey takes on a separate villain.’

Another wrote: ‘That would be sick. In all honesty I feel like it’s too soon for a Spider verse or Sinister Six fight but whatever, I’ll take it.’

‘The Sinister Six versus three Spider-Mans better happen! Mephisto, Electro, Sandman, The Lizard, Goblin and Doc Oc.. the pieces are there!’, a Twitter user said.

Meanwhile, a follower tweeted: ‘So, we can all agree that No Way Home is going to end with the Sinister Six threatening everyone. The question is if we’ll get to meet our old Spidey friends in this movie or if they are going to wait for Spider Man 4.

‘Personally, I’d love an entrance near the end and a full movie.’

a lot of movies now a days have a tendency on giving out too much. i already know the premise. multiverse. old villains coming back. multiple spider man. i’m assuming the sinister six is involved. so that’s enough for me.

Lizard or Scorpion was also present in the trailer. I think it was Lizard. They’re setting up Sinister Six vs Spider-mans
