The Awe-Inspiring Undefeated Streak of WWE Legend The Undertaker at WrestleMania

The Undertaker kick started his legendary WrestleMania streak after he defeated Jimmy Snuka at WrestleMania VII. From that point onwards, The Deadman won at every WrestleMania he took part in. Ths was until he faced Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XXX.

Now, the question is – why is the streak considered being legendary?

The most obvious answer is that The Phenom won at twenty-one WrestleManias in a row! That’s already impressive in itself.

Secondly, when he was winning at WrestleManias, he defeated several noteworthy opponents. In fact, some of them continue to be the biggest names of WWE even today.

However, the underlying genius of the streak is that The Undertaker was maintaining an annual victory. Therefore, WWE could use The Phenom all year to put over other Superstars. To be honest, defeating Taker was huge during the time he was working with the company, so he often helped WWE in giving the young talent a push when required.

Finally, considering that WrestleMania is one of the main WWE PPVs, it’s absolutely insane to have the same Superstar constantly achieve victory 21 times in a row. It’s absolutely insane!

The Undertaker could have continued the legendary streak

Coming to WrestleMania XXX, WWE booked Brock Lesnar against The Undertaker. In a shocking turn of events, The Beast defeated The Phenom, thus, ending the legendary streak.

However, fans later discovered that Vince McMahon ended the legendary streak. He thought it was Taker’s last WrestleMania. He took the call because he believed it was better to have him leave after he lost than after he won. The Undertaker was unsure about this and reconfirmed with McMahon and eventually agreed to do it.

Furthermore, WWE handpicked Brock Lesnar to be the one who defeated The Undertaker. WWE wanted to portray him as the biggest heel to ever step foot in WWE. Apparently, WWE would use this angle later to build a feud against another mega star.
