WATCH: Zandvoort Changes Traffic Signs to Max Verstappen’s F1 Race Number Ahead of Dutch GP

F1 was meant to return to the Netherlands for the first time since 1985 in 2020, but it had to be canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. But this year the Dutch Grand Prix organizers have confirmed that the race will take place as planned with a limited amount of fans in the circuit.

It’s an enormous boost for Max Verstappen as the race will take place in his backyard and one can surely expect an electrifying atmosphere from the Orange Army at the Zandvoort circuit.

The Dutch Grand Prix is scheduled as the second leg of the upcoming triple-header and the Dutch fans have already started to make the hype of the race. As the speed limit at Zandvoort has been changed from 30 KMPH to 33 KMPH, matching the number of their local hero, Max Verstappen.

Title matters to me, not records: Max Verstappen

As quoted by the official Red Bull Racing website, when he was told that he became the youngest driver to claim a grand slam in Formula 1, Max Verstappen replied: “I’m not focused on records, my aim is to win the Championship, for me, that’s the only one that matters.”

Furthermore, the Dutchman shares what did he make out of the 2021 season so far.

“The wins in Austria were very nice. The win in Monaco was also very nice as well. To be honest, there’s been quite a few nice ones so far this season,” said Verstappen.

“Overall, it’s been a good start for us, we’ve been really competitive. But we need to be there at the end of the season as well because that’s what you work for as a team, so let’s hope it’s going to be like that.”

Currently, Max Verstappen sits P2 in the driver’s championship, just eight points behind his arch-rival, Lewis Hamilton.
