WWE legend ‘The Big Show’ Paul Wight has revealed the secret to his amazing weight loss after he dropped 130lbs to get into the shape of his life.
The giant wrestler, who now works for AEW and is set to make his in-ring debut against QT Marshall at All Out on September 5, weighed 500lbs at his heaviest but he worked hard to get himself into incredible shape.
Speaking on the Insight with Chris Van Vliet podcast, he said: ‘I got as low as 370 lbs. Right now, I am at about 408 or 410. I’m still keeping it low. Covid and the pandemic put a big hit in the training and stuff like that.
‘Now that things are starting to work I am getting things back together. It’s fun, you know how to get there, so it’s about gearing up and getting there again.’
The 49-year-old star even gave a tease of his fitness regime, which he admitted starts with dieting but goes beyond simply eating the right things.
‘Get your diet in order, then make the commitment to get your cardio in and all that stuff,’ he added.
‘When I was at 500lbs, I was a quarter ton of fun for 15 years. When I say 400, I still feel a little light in the pants. But to stay around 375 would be good.’
Wight also discussed a possible dream match with Shaquille O’Neal, which has been rumoured for years but failed to materialise in WWE due to ‘red tape’ getting in the way.
‘I think that will happen now because there is not as much red tape,’ the former world champion said, pointing to Shaq’s highly praised AEW Dynamite debut earlier this year.
‘That was an incredible showing for Shaq, so hopefully we’ll be able to cut some more red tape and make it happen. He’s been hitting the gym lately, Shaq is pretty big right now.

‘He’s “Huge Shaq”, that’s the best way of looking at it. I think he is nervous about me so he is putting on a bit of size. Whereas I am “Tall Paul” the car salesman [laughs].’
Over the summer, Wight shared a selfie from the gym, pulling his T-shirt up with a smirk on his face as he flashed his abs for the camera.
Posting the snap on Instagram, he wrote: ‘I think I can see em?? Back on track now the fun begins! #feelinggreat #giantabs (sic)’
