Milos Raonic Lastest to Join Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Serena Williams, and Others in US Open 2021 Withdrawals

Canadian tennis professional Milos Raonic has had a season engulfed with injuries. Unfortunately, he won’t be able to participate in the upcoming US Open 2021 event. Indeed, it is a tough blow for him and the Canadian tennis fans.

Accordingly, a lucky loser from the US Open 2021 qualifiers will replace Raonic in the main event. Moreover, the 30-year-old Canadian could have received a seed but will pass on to the next top player.

The announcement first arrived on the Entry List Updates Twitter account. Hence, the cause of the withdrawal is still unknown.

However, Raonic has joined Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Dominic Thiem, Venus Williams, Serena Williams, and others in the long US Open 2021 withdrawals list.

Injury woes continue for Milos Raonic as he withdraws from US Open 2021

Notably, the former World No.3 Milos Raonic is suffering from a persistent calf injury. As a result, he also had withdrawn from the Wimbledon Championships 2021.

Most importantly, the Canadian wanted to recover and come back to play in front of his home crowd at the National Bank Open. However, his body did not keep up with his goals.

Without a doubt, Raonic is one of the best serves in the current crop of male tennis professionals. Hence, it is not easy to see him miss out on the hard courts at the Flushing Meadows Stadium in New York.

Besides, even Federer, Nadal, Serena, and Venus have withdrawn based on their injuries. Also, the upcoming American Grand Slam would be the first major tournament in 24 years to neither see Federer, Nadal, or Serena.

Understandably, Raonic has missed the vital events in the 2021 season. Therefore, he would now concentrate completely on his recovery than on his return date.
