BARGAIN! The Shockingly Low Amount Manchester United Paid for Cristiano Ronaldo From Juventus

Cristiano Ronaldo is back in England after Manchester United re-signed their former superstar. Ronaldo first left the club in 2009 and joined Spanish club Real Madrid in a then world-record move. He has since played for Juventus too and finally returned after spending 12 years away from the club.

United got an excellent deal as well. The forward only had one year remaining on his Juventus contract, and the Italian club was struggling financially to cover them. Now that they have offloaded Ronaldo’s massive wages, they can reinvest it in more areas of their squad.

Manchester United will pay €15m with €8m in add-ons as fee to Juventus for Cristiano Ronaldo. Gonna be around €20m guaranteed to Juventus as some add-ons are ‘easy’. #MUFC

On the other hand, United paid €15m with €8m in add-ons as the fee to Juventus for Cristiano Ronaldo. Even though football journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that the add-ons are really easy to accomplish, the fee can only rise to €23m.

That amount of money for a player of Ronaldo’s caliber is extremely less. Additionally, Ronaldo also took a massive wage cut to join his boyhood club. This deal worked out even better for United when you consider Ronaldo’s star appeal.

Manchester United would recoup all of the transfer fee and Ronaldo’s wages with just a few days of shirt sales. Moreover, after Manchester United announced the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo, United’s stock was up by 8%. This meant that United added about $250 million in market cap to the stock already, which eclipses any amount of money that they had to pay for his signature.

Cristiano Ronaldo is officially heading back to Manchester United.

The result? $MANU is up 8%, meaning Ronaldo has added about $250 million in market cap to the stock already.

Cristiano Ronaldo and his stats in the Serie A

Ronaldo has always been a goal-scoring machine ever since his first stint at United, and that continued in the Italian top flight. He spent three full seasons there and ended his Serie A career with 81 goals in 98 matches.

In the end, he ended up with 101 goals and 22 assists in all competitions for the perennial Seria A champions. If he can bring that form to Manchester United, the reds will win the league again. They haven’t won it ever since Sir Alex Ferguson left in 2013, but it will be poetic to win it with his protege.
